NHS Spreads Holiday Cheer
January 2, 2025
In December, the H.C. Wilcox Technical High School National Honor Society chapter completed one of its annual service projects. Twenty-five NHS members worked together to bring holiday joy to the residents of the Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden with handmade winter-themed cards. With plenty of warm messages, the residents are sure to receive a lovely card regardless of what holiday they celebrate!
Some of the members that assisted with this service project had some heartwarming sentiments to share about how meaningful the project was. James R. shared, “I was more than happy to make holiday cards for the home, and I hope everyone who receives cards gets the same enjoyment from reading them that I got from making them.” Another member, Jeduailyz Q., felt that “it warmed my heart to think about how these simple words might bring a smile to someone’s face, especially when they might feel lonely. It reminded me how a small kind gesture is so important.”
NHS members coordinated with the Therapeutic Recreation Director at Connecticut Baptist Home to ensure the Grinch didn’t interfere with the drop-off to the residents, and the cards would spread holiday cheer! The members of the H.C. Wilcox Technical High School National Honor Society chapter are excited to take on additional service projects for the betterment of the Meriden Community!
