2023-2024 School Year Updates

August 28, 2023

Greeting Wildcat Families!

The purpose of this page is to provide a few reminders and updates. We have been very busy preparing for the 2023-2024 school year.

It is important that all forms are completed in Parent Square/Powerschool prior to the start of the year. Many of you have already done so – we thank you! If you haven’t, please look for an email from CTECS; you may need to check your junk/spam folder.
9th grade students will not have access to their Chromebooks until forms are completed.

  • Dress Code/Uniforms – please be sure you have ordered any necessary uniforms, so they arrive in time for the first day of school. We expect full compliance from all students.
    1. We will allow any Wilcox shirts during academics that is purchased from our uniform company, even hoodies and shop shirts. Students WILL NOT be allowed to put the hoods up.
    2. Lanyards – we allow any breakaway lanyards as long as they are school appropriate.
    3. We will allow sports teams to wear their jerseys on game days with permission from the coach (shop rules will apply first)
    4. Outerwear is not allowed to be worn during the school day; we encourage you to order a Wilcox fleece or sweatshirt for times when it may be cool.
    5. Students are required to wear IDs above the waist, over shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies.
    6. No earbuds will be allowed.
    7. Pants must be jeans or docker-style and worn at the waist. No leggings, gym pants, yoga pants, sweatpants, etc. are allowed.
    8. Shoes must be closed toe and closed heel. Crocs are not allowed.
    9. More detailed information will be included in our student/family handbook.
  •  Parking: The parking permit form must be turned in, with all supporting documentation, before students will be allowed to park on campus. The form is available in our main office or by clicking: Parking Permit Application 2023-2024
  • Mr. Friedman will be a new assistant principal at Wilcox. He will be the supervising administrator for grades 10 and 12. He is coming to us with a wealth of administrative experience. Most recently, he served as an assistant principal at Kaynor Tech.
  • Student Activities: Students who wish to participate in extracurricular activities (athletics, dances, pep rallies, clubs, field trips, etc.) must have an eligibility passport signed by an administrator. The criteria for eligibility will be determined by the attendance/tardiness/early dismissal requirements, discipline history, and academic & CTE  progress. Specific requirements will be included in the student/family handbook. You will need to acknowledge it through Power School in the coming weeks.

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back on August 30th (grades 9, 10, 11, and senior mentors). Seniors begin on 8/31.
Please reach out with any questions.
Take care,
Dr. Stacy Butkus, Principal
